SPIDER- Y is seeking to recruit a voluntary statistician to provide high quality statistics for our home games playing in the Premier League Wheelchair Basketball competitions for 2015-2016.
The production of game stats will allow coaches and individuals to evaluate individual and team performance, enabling them to focus on areas of improvement and capitalise on strong points. Games stats will be available following the games via the Premier League fixtures/results page of the GBWBA Website.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Delivery of Statistics via Fiba live stats on game day, Taking statistics at games is ever easy, but now FIBA have made the job of capturing game statistics much easier using FIBA Live Stats.
The program facilitates the capture of game statistics as they happen, and also allows webcasts to stream information live on the internet for all to see.
BWB statistician receive a match day payment of £12 plus expenses these will be agreed prior to appointment. Laptop and printer provided on match days.
Person Specification
- Knowledge and understanding of basketball stats acquired through relevant academic study (either studied as a module or as an academic qualification to degree standard)
- Excellent knowledge level of Basketball or wheelchair basketball
- A basic knowledge of MS Excel and Fiba Live stats
This exciting role would suit candidates currently studying sports and performance analysis or keen to gain further experience in this field.
This position is a voluntary role and would involve some evening and weekend working due to the nature of the role.

Leeds Rhinos Wheelchair Rugby League are proud to announce two Wheelchair Rugby League Festivals in Leeds
25th Aug 11– 4 pm at Morley Leisure Centre -
8th Sept 10-4pm at John Charles Indoor Athletics Centre
Both days will be based around development clubs having competitive games against teams of equal strength and numbers.
On the 8th Sept we are combining the day with the Leeds to Rio Festival where other disability sports will be on offer all day, around the Centres other facilities. And will include a featured game from some of the players from this years World Cup Teams, including England , Ireland
and special teams from Leeds Rugby Foundation, New Zealand Exiles.
Teams can register interest from today for both festivals and must provide playing tops and chairs.
