Leeds Spiders (1) Started the new season with some new faces on board against a formidable Lothian (1) team who were fast on the break, losing 75-40 away to Lothian (1)
Spiders started with our best combination Paul McDerby, John Edwards, Debuts for Andy Gray and Paul Binks, and Captain Wayne Fisher. The five worked well together for the first quarter with Paul McDerby Leading the scoring with 6 points but finishing the first 10 minutes 17-11 to Lothian.
The second quarter very similar to the first, with a half time score 35-21 to Lothian.
With the introduction and debuts for Lisa Gardner and Chris Yeoman the game pretty much was decided, with a low scoring quarter for the spiders, finishing 63-29.
A better shooting performance from Wayne fisher in the fourth quarter 7 points helped to reduce the deficit, and also Paul McDerby on hand to bag 4 more points, but the better stronger side won final score Lothian (1) 75 – 40 Leeds Spiders(1).
