New Season start for Leeds Rhinos
Leeds Rhinos WhRL ready for the Start...
With a New line up this year , New Coach Martyn Gill is looking forward to seeing the months of training come together this weekend away to Featherstone Rovers 1200 and then New Club Leyland Warriors 1345.
Above Leeds Rhinos Super League Player Steve Ward and Ronnie the Rhinos came to training.
With both games back to back it should be a great opening start to the season, featherstone have moved venues this year to Knottingley Sports Centre, so new for all teams.
Leyland Warriors may be a new team but with familier faces in 3 of the England team who returned home from France less than 2 weeks ago suffering a defeat to france 64-46 , Team Manager Phil Roberts, Captain Martin Norris, and Adam Rigby, should give Rhinos a great competitve game.
Leeds Rhinos doubled up training this week to give them more fitness before the opening games of the campaign.
Head Coach Martyn Gill is looking forward to his first taste of the competetive side to Wheelchair Rugby League, the former Castleford Tiger and Gateshead Thunder Academy coach, wants to show a different side to the game and give Leeds the edge. He's recentley stated that his target for Leeds is title contenders within 3 years.
New Captain James Simpson in his second year is ready for the off and as not misspent his winter, he's been keeping fit travelling the world in search of more obstacles in the form of Spartan races which took him to texas to compete in the Texas Beast to complete his 3rd Spartan race in 12 months. Our first home games will be at Morley Leisure Centre on Sunday 15th June 10am against London Medway Dragons, then later 2pm its Hull FC.
