The action started in Leeds with the Leeds Rhinos taking on the defending champions Halifax, both sides were unbeaten so far this season and neither side wanted to lose this game.

Both sides started the game well, but it was Halifax who opened up an early twelve point lead. England's Jack Brown then added two more tries before the Rhinos cut the gap to ten points.

With ten minutes left of the first half, two tries for Nathan Collins and a try for Jodie Boyd-Ward saw the Rhinos take the lead for the first time and led at half time by six points.

The second half saw some of the best Wheelchair Rugby League played this season and it started off with a quick try for Halifax, after Brown drew away three Rhino defenders to create the gap for Nathan Mulhall to score a try. Halifax added two more tires through Robert Hawkins to extend the gap to eight points.

The Rhinos closed the gap and retook the lead when Sebastian Bechara added two tries and a try each for Nathan Collins, Ryan Richardson and Tom Haliwell saw the Rhinos extend their lead, as they looked to close out an impressive victory with over five minutes left.

A Nathan Collins drop goal meant that Halifax would have to score ten points during the final two minutes of the match to win it.

Jack Brown scored two tries for Halifax, the second one came with only three seconds left on the clock. Brown took the kick which could win the game for his side, but he pulled the kick left of the post as the Rhinos won the game, their first ever victory over the reigning champions, by fifty seven points to fifty six.

2 Wins Back 2 Back....

Leeds Rhinos made it two wins from as many games as they overcame Medway Dragons 78-42 in an entertaining game at Medway Park.

Both sides opened up with three tries each within the first fifteen minutes of the game, but tries from Tom Haliwell, Jodie Boyd-Ward and Ryan Richardson saw the Rhinos cruise to a comfortable 20-point lead.

Medway did cut the gap back to ten points with two well-worked tries from Sebastian Groves, but the game swung back to the Rhinos as a try for Josh Butler and another try for Richardson saw the Rhinos take control of the game.

Medway recovered to score a late first half penalty and they trailed 46-26 at the break.

The Dragons then started the second half on the front foot and, with help from Martin Lane, they managed to cut the gap back to ten points with 30 minutes left to play.

But, with the Dragons tiring late on, the Rhinos racked up 26 unanswered points, scoring five tries to close out an impressive victory on the road.

Leeds Rhinos ran in 160 points without reply as they got their 2017 Challenge Cup campaign off to a flying start.

Leeds, Cup finalists last year, took on the Argonauts from Dartford, who were making their Challenge Cup debut.

The Rhinos started well and opened up a 32-point lead with two tries for Tony Godward and Josh Butler, who completed an early first half hat-trick.

Butler added two more tries, before a try each for both Ryan Richardson, James Collins and a fourth try of the game for Cibbens, saw the Rhinos open up the gap to 60 points.

A further try each for Butler, Richardson and Cibbens, along with a first try of the game for Jodie Boyd-Ward, saw the Rhinos lead 82-0 at half time.

The Rhinos continued their dominance into the second half - two more tries each for Collins and Godward saw them reach the 100-point mark.

A second half hat-trick of tries each for Richardson and Cibbens alongside two more tries each for Godward and Butler rounded off the scoring on a remarkable match.
